What you should expect from us – What we expect from you

Introduction

Anyone can sign up for being a part of the Core, but in order to get value from being a member here, it is important that we are clear about expectations in both directions.

What You Should Expect From Maniphesto

Here are five key things we think you should expect to get from Maniphesto Core:

  1. A safe haven to share and discuss openly and authentically your everyday challenges at work, with your family and relationships, and to help you to make the right decisions as you navigate life.
  2. A reliable stream of input, challenge, and inspiration to take on together with your brothers, to give you the right conditions to grow and expand as a man.
  3. Accountability in a strong band of brothers who make it their personal mission to grow with you in becoming better men.
  4. Support in creating a personal vision and setting goals for yourself for creating the life that you want, and support in moving towards those goals.
  5. Responsive leadership. We are here to serve you. That doesn’t mean that we will do everything you ask us to, but that we will listen to your input and are constantly on our toes to build up a stronger platform and system for you to thrive.

On Confidentiality
All Core teams have agreements on confidentiality ensuring that anything shared with your team will be kept private. In our leadership team, we have a process of intervision in order to ensure safety and development. This means that our leaders meet every single week and discuss the challenges that we are facing, learning how to facilitate better. In order to do this, then there is often a need to share details from the team meetings at the discretion of the team leader. We take care to only share information which is essential, avoiding any unnecessary personal identifiable information. Of course, Team leadership meetings are held to an even higher level of confidentiality.

What we expect from you

1. Communication. The foundation of your success within the Core is your desire and ability to communicate with the other members. This is done via the Core Teams, the Telegram Group and buddy calls. We invite you to engage on the topics that interest you the most and which you don’t always have the opportunity to talk about in other places. Chances are good that, if it interests you, then there will be other guys here who are keen to discuss it and share their experiences.

2. Authenticity. Our community rests on a foundation of honesty. We are honest about where we are at, and we learn to admire the strengths of men who are different from ourselves in order to lift the entire community. We are not trying to impress each other, although some healthy competition can help bring out the best in each man.

3. Growth through action. Long term value in men’s groups comes from tackling challenges and barriers, deciding on a course of action and being held accountable for moving forward. We appreciate the powerful experiences of presence and depth of connection that can come through authentic sharing. And we realise that connection based only on emotional experiences goes stale over time. Creating real growth through action is a far more stable and sure bond. Increasing our capacity for growth through action is the masculine heart of a men’s group.

4. Commitment. If you stay in Core for some time, we guarantee that you will meet with discomfort, resistance or even a conflict. This is where you will be tempted to quit. Quitting is always the easiest way out and also the most certain way to ensure that you do not deal with the issues that are holding you back in life. We commit to each other’s success in a fellowship to guide and mirror each other to greater maturity. Women give birth to boys, but men are made through journeying alongside other men – especially other men who challenge us!

That’s it!

If you can agree and abide by these standards and expectations, it’s time to commit to your next task; find your ONE thing!
